Perhaps the biggest draw for U.S. audiences will be the world premiere of Joanna Hogg’s “The Souvenir Part II,” starring Honor Swinton Byrne, Tilda Swinton, Charlie Heaton, Harris Dickinson, and Joe Alwyn. The film is executive produced by Martin Scorsese, who is also an executive producer on Fortnight title “Murina” (directed by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović). Hogg’s original “The Souvenir” was one of the most acclaimed films at Sundance 2019 and will have its French premiere at Directors’ Fortnight 2021 as a special screening....

Rights were first optioned to the book “She Said” by Annapurna Pictures and Plan B Entertainment, under their co-production agreement, back in 2018. Annapurna’s Oscar nominee Megan Ellison will executive produce the film alongside Sue Naegle. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner (Best Picture Oscar winners for “12 Years a Slave”) will produce for Plan B. The film, like the book, is said to focus not on Harvey Weinstein or the scandal itself, but instead on the all-women cadre of journalists who faced down intimidation and legal threats to break the bombshell report, which published on October 5, 2017....

Milioti is the first new cast member to join Colin Farrell, who plays the DC Comics villain, in the upcoming series, which is currently under a working title. Farrell first appeared as the character in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” film, which saw the star don heavy prosthetics to portray the right-hand man of mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). Milioti will play Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine, who was first created by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale for their 1997 comic book miniseries “The Long Halloween....
